Hiroshima
-Itsukushima Shrine (嚴島神社)
-The atomic bomb sites
-Hiroshima War Memorial Museum
Started the day with a Bullet Train ride to Hiroshima and took a JR Ferry to an island where Itsukushima Shrine is located, a very big shrine build within the sea... when we arrived at the island's ferry terminal we saw wild deers roaming around the walk way and small roads... You can feed the deers but be careful of their "Coffee Beans", they just plant them everywhere XD, took pictures of the shrine and the deers and we headed to find some snacks... There's one shop that sells very delicious "焼ガキ" (Grilled Oysters), they serve like 2 big good amount of oysters to you for a good price of 400Yen *SGD5.30*, it's the best to eat it on a cold day where you can experience the full flavor of the oysters... After that quick snack, we headed up the mountains to take some more pictures of maple leafs... halfway up the mountain road there's a teahouse which serves of course tea and some other snacks, didn't stop for it but it's hilarious to see the customers get disturb by the deers there and the shop owners running with a broomstick to chase them away XD....After a few hours we headed back down to have our lunch at the Grilled Oysters restaurant, had Gaki-Don... After lunch we ferried back and took an electrical railway bus to The Atomic Bomb Sites and Hiroshima War Memorial Museum...
Nothing much at the Bomb Sites just some semi-destroyed buildings with some peace message... The Memorial Museum is the only funny place, you know that Japan got bombed by the Americans because they bombed Singapore first right ? Well, that's not written in the Museum, but instead this is what they wrote "Hiroshima was bombed because of the Americans that wanted to test out their new A-Bombs and they chose Hiroshima as a test target..." All Lies!!! It's the Japanese that didn't listen to the first Atomic Bomb warning ! But all in all i still love Japan : D... Killed some more time by looking at what nuclear radiation blast can do to a victim and the casualties of the blast, sadly no pictures can be taken... quite cool....
It was quite late already after all that nuclear radiation blast stuff so we bought bentos back for dinner and headed for My Family Mart to ration myself with some snacks and Boss Coffee...*They actually sell Plasma Television in the mart : o* ... Ate instant noodle supper and the day ended..... *Fell sick the day before : s*
